Spent most of Saturday on Stillhouse (9ish - 5ish) and only caught two bass total. Fished points and timber on the main lake and up river. Fished mostly deep timber or bluffs. There's a little hydrilla on the main lake (pulled up with carolina rig), but it's not very thick or healthy at all. Hit the lower end of Travis this morning from daylight until about noon. Fished bluffs and docks and may have had a handful of small bass at the most. Water temps are around mid 80s. Seems like good fishing days have been few and far between on our main bodies of water for a while and haven't been seeing many good reports posted on other sites for quite a while (outside of the Lake Austin spawn still going on). Any ideas????

David, I think it must just be you. I've been catching them everywhere I go as long as it has Falcon in the name. I don't know what it is, but this is the most off fishing year I recall... ever.

Went to Fayette Sunday and caught 12 or so between 2 of us. Those fish sure pull harder than Travis fishes. It is a weird year, normally the top water bite is on and I have not had anything on top water yet. Maybe it would help if I went more........

Yea Mark, I wasn't talking about the stocked ponds up in Yankeeville you've been fishing for the last few days! I was particularly referring to the local central Texas lakes, particularly the ones that aren't constant level lakes. I just wonder if the extreme drought combined with water levels coming up 30-40ft. in the matter of a couple of weeks have anything to do with it, but then again I've only lived here for 3 years so for all I know, that could be a common thing. Oh well, I'll just keep on chunking my tackle box at them and see what happens. I guess it beats living in south Louisiana and wondering what color to throw in oily water.

Sorry, I should have said Eddie Joe and I caught 200. It was so easy Ed, that I was getting a new bait and my hook was hanging over in the water and a 2 pound smallie came up and ate the bare hook.
